Steve started this in 1990.

Limelight2k started in 1990. Steve Roberts had a PA, a binder of cassette-tape backing tracks, and a hunch that Gig Harbor would sing if someone gave it the room and the chance. Thirty-five years later, both things are still true.

We're not a wedding-DJ company that does karaoke on the side. We're a karaoke operation that has been doing exactly this — the same gig, the same craft — longer than most of our singers have been alive. That distinction matters when you watch Steve queue the right song for the right person at the right minute of the night.

The work is mostly invisible — read the room, prep the host pad, keep the wheel moving, push the shy ones, slow-walk the people who'd otherwise sing five Journey songs in a row. The visible part is people singing badly and smiling about it.

Limelight2k doesn't take itself too seriously, but it takes the gig seriously. PA gets soundchecked. Backup gear travels with us. Singers get their turn. If you book Steve, you get a thirty-five-years-deep run-of-show on whatever day you booked — wedding, work party, Friday night at El Publito.
